Obedience Training - Becoming the Pack Leader
The start of any good family pet or working dog starts with solid obedience. The Pack Leader obedience program is designed for dogs and handlers with no previous training. This training is done in real world environments and distracting situations. Training is done in two hour sessions twice a week for three weeks. This will prepare your dog for the AKC (CGC) Canine Good Citizen Program. http://www.akc.org/events/cgc/program.cfm
For dogs age 6 months or older.
Price $650 Includes Free Annual training
Advanced Obedience - Remote Collar Training for off leash obedience.
The Pack Leader Advanced Obedience program is designed to teach the handler the fundamentals of remote collar training for better off leash control in distracting situations. The dog will learn to sit through distractions and obey hand signals from a distance. This training is done in two hour sessions twice a week for five weeks.
For dogs 12 months or older.
Annual Training - Use it or Lose It.
Even fully trained dogs will need anual training to keep the obedience at peak performance. We offer this service free to any dog completing a Pack Leader program other than basic obedience. Call to schedule your annual training every year.
If you do not use your free annual training hours every year you will not be eligible for any further free training. WE WILL NOT RETRAIN YOUR DOG FOR FREE AFTER TWO YEARS OF NO TRAINING.
Problem solving Program 3 to 5 days
This Program is to address behavioral problems dogs have, the duration of the Program depends on the problem and is charged at a daily rate. This program is for aggression, barking, jumping, digging and the many other behavior problems dogs may have.
Personal Protection Programs
Before the dog can be trained for protection training the dog must be able to do basic obedience and pass an evaluation to ensure the dog is stable and suitable for training. Pack Leader does not use obsolete arm pads for training law enforcement dogs. All dogs trained in bite work are trained on a full body bite suit, concealed arms and muzzle work.
Evaluation & Private lesson One hour
The trainer will go through several tests with your dog to get a profile on the potential of your dog. After evaluation the dog will go through a private lesson to develop his confidence. On completion you will be advised on how to develop the dog at home or you may choose the foundation training.
Foundation Program 5 day
The foundation Program is an extension of the evaluation, the dog will be exposed to a professional decoy to raise his suspicion level and confidence. The dog will be agitated at a distance from behind a fence. As the dogs drive and confidence increases he will work on lead with a handler to develop further. The confidence and strong suspicion level developed is essential for future training. You will get a demonstration at the end of the Program and have the option for the dog to start the next stage or develop him at home.
Watch dog Program 5 days
This five day Program is to develop the dog’s aggression and to bark on command. No bite work is taught in the watch dog Program.
Personal protection Program 15 days
In this Program we teach the dog to show aggression and bark on command or when there is a threat to the handler. The dog will also bite on command or show aggression. During training the dog’s bite is developed on a body suit to bite on the lower and upper arm or armpit and release from the bite on command.
Full handler training is given on completion of this program.
Security Patrol Program 20 day
Dogs entering into this Program must have already completed the basic obedience and foundation Program. The dog is taught as a full personal protection dog and will attack on command or threat. The dog will work on a full body suit for upper body and leg bites. The dog is also trained on the concealed arms and muzzle. Other exercises we teach your dog is to drop and stay during pat down and escort. The dog will attack without command if the prisoner tries to escape or attack the handler. During this Program the dog is conditioned to work in different conditions such as inside buildings on slippery floors etc.
Tracking Program foundation 15 day
The foundation tracking Program is to teach the dog to locate human scent and follow the track and air born scent of a person. The dog will start off doing small tracks on an open field and develop to much more difficult and longer tracks. The dog will learn to cast out and locate the track and also to remain focused and disregard cross tracks from other people. On completion of the Program the handler will undergo a consultation and instructions to continue the training.
Tracking Program complete 40 days
This Program will fully train your dog as a tracking dog covering basic and advanced urban tracking. The dog will be taught scent discrimination, tracking on different surfaces and utilizing air born scent. This Program includes several private lessons for the handler.
Air Scent Program complete 40 days
This Program will fully train your dog in area search. The dog will be taught to locate any air born scent in the area and perform a bark alert upon making a find. The dog will learn to search in a pattern in front of the handler to cover as much ground as possible. This Program includes several private lessons for the handler. The dog will find a single stationary subject located within an area of 40 – 60 acres within 1 1/2 hours including breaks.
Search and Rescue Program 90 days
The SAR training is formatted for the individual needs of the handler. The dog can either be taught as a SAR dog for tracking and trailing or be trained as a cadaver dog. Cadaver dogs are trained to locate human remains under water or in brush, graves etc. Mostly used to locate murder or suicide victims, or as a forensics dogs to locate body parts at a murder scene.
Urban Rescue dogs are trained to locate living victims of a building collapse or avalanche, the dog is taught to locate where the person is and indicate to the handler.
Narcotic Detection Program 90 days
If the dog passes the 5 day comprehensive evaluation he can then start this Program. The dog is taught to locate with a passive or aggressive alert the presence of either or all of the following; Marijuana, cocaine, Heroin, Amphetamines. During the training Program the dog will be locating as little as 1ml of odor and will be conditioned in scent saturated areas. The dog will be locating odor hidden in vehicles, buildings and open area searches. Handler training at the completion of the Program is also included.
Firearm 30 days
After the dog has completed the 5 day evaluation the dog can then start the firearm Program. The dog is taught to locate guns, rifles and used and unused ammunition. The indication the dog will be taught is either passive or alert the handler by barking.
Other Programs
Pack Leader will customize a complete Program for your requirements. Dogs can be trained on any odor. Other Programs include Termite detection, contamination, chemicals, gas lines etc.
